Liked the fact that is was much easier to handle when cooking is complete. Sturdy enough to allow moving it across the kitchen without being overly concerned about being burned while handling the unit. Have had experience with some other vegetable steamers that were so flimsy it was difficult to handle them without being overly cautious. Steamed some cabbage in it and it performed well. Only improvement I would suggest is making lid hinges more difficult to separate from the unit, but can work around this since it does not affect cooking process.

After getting a steam burn from microwaving veges the other day I decided I really needed to get a real steamer. This item looks like it will fit the bill and keep my hands safe =+}. Besides a slotted lid to let steam escape during cooking the lid has a great way to slightly open the top after you remove from the microwave to further let all steam out. I think this is going to be a new, great addition to my cooking devices.

It looks like this item has been returned and then read sent to me because half of the lid was off and it doesn't want to seem to stay on the steamer

When I received it the box wad all dented in. The steamer does not close properly. Probably done in shipping
