Outstanding Characters!
A fun read. A murder mystery full of character and characters that are so developed in action, dialogue, and problem solving common sense that they all come to life. Before you know it there is more than one murder in a plot line containing endless stunning twists occurring usually the moment the reader is certain they have figured out the murderer. It all comes together in a logical and surprising ending. The Thursday Murder Club series is so much fun to read that it is a good idea to so order the next book before you finish this first book.

Quirky Characters
I love the characters. They are quirky, interesting, and unique. I love the details that let me know exactly what the countryside is like as well as the Coopers Chase Retirement Village. Embrace the humor and enjoy the mystery.

A good read
I was a little hesitant to buy this book because it seemed like a niche read. But I was desperate for a light read. I am so glad I bought it . It is humorous and a good easy read. Not to hard to figure out who did it. I enjoyed it so much that half way through I bought the rest of the available series. It is also coming out on Netflix and I am really looking forward to that.

Quick, easy, and enjoyable read
I didn't figure out most of anything, which was refreshing, but am still a bit miffed we didn't learn Elizabeth's background. I really wanted to know.I liked how fast-paced it was, but at the same time the short chapters bothered me somewhat. It made it easier to stop if need be, but it seemed almost excessive. I also felt like there were maybe too many POVs going on at times. A few felt a bit unnecessary to me, and I didn't think added enough to the story to justify it being there.Overall I enjoyed it, but may read the others mostly to find out if they ever let on what Elizabeth actually did in her past years.

A fun read with great characters
I ordered the audible version of this book when it first came out and I admit I didn’t get very far into it before I just abandoned it. Some books are just harder to listen to than they are to read. This book jumps around a lot and I found it impossible to listen to, however I bought the Kindle version and found it very entertaining to read. My only criticism of the Kindle version is that the entries that our Joyce’s diary should not have the font reduced. It made it harder to read. The characters are very well developed, and I took to them immediately. I will say that I am roughly in the same age category as these characters and I found that the author did make them a little more clueless than was really needed. Just because we’re older doesn’t mean we can’t figure out technology. But at least he did this in a humorous way, and I could certainly relate to the way he portrayed portray these people. There were enough twists and turns in the plot line that I really did not have it figured out up until the very end. I really am happy that this is going to be a series and I look forward to reading the next two books and also look forward to the Netflix movie. Very excited about seeing that cast perform this book..

Just a little good fun, especially for retirees like me.
Taking place in the Kent region of the UK, the basic premise is that there is a group of women and men from a variety of backgrounds - nurse, psychiatrist, labor organizer, and spy, living together in a luxurious retirement community, who decide to use their talents to solve crimes that have the police baffled. So of course when one happens right on their doorstep...This book started out a bit slow for me. I couldn't get an immediate sense as to whether or not I liked the style or the characters. But the author was, it turns out, just setting the stage, and I found myself pretty quickly sucked in. The book is laid out in a unique style, with one member having a diary entry for every chapter. It works, and overall, I loved the writing style and the characters. As with any good novel, the characters are a little over the top, but in a fun way, with a few sharp edges thrown in for dramatic effect. One funny thing I noticed in this book is how curiously honest the characters are with each other, even if/when it means admitting to murder. As a result, even the murderers are more often than not likeable, fun characters. I can see why this has become a fan favorite for book clubs. The book is 4 years old, with two sequels already. I can easily imagine reading the sequels at some point. Like this novel, they would be great to take on a holiday.

Who Did It?
This was my first book by Richard Osman. I enjoyed The Thursday Murder Club.Character development was well done! I was drawn in by the plot. I wanted to know Who Did It!I thought there were a lot of moving parts in this book. You really needed to follow the bread crumbs of clues. The book was well written and kept you guessing. I gave this book 3.5 stars.Well done!

Fantastic!
A delightful read, especially if you are no longer a spring chicken. Funny and fresh, heart - rending in parts, and for those who have imaginations , for those who love the geography of England and for those who don’t like to have everything spelled out for them. This edition comes with book club questions, a teaser of the next n the series and a reasonably sturdy cover.
