Refurbished my gas fireplace and added Ultimate Fire Wire. Even though the temperature outside is nearing 100 degrees the fireplace still looks inviting with the Fire Wire.

Too many reviewers on Amazon write their reviews right after getting the product. Don't trust them.I bought this wire seven weeks ago, and have been gone for two of those seven weeks. We use our fireplace decently-regularly, maybe 3-4 nights a week, usually for perhaps three hours at a time.So, rough guess, maybe 40 hours so far.The wire got thinner pretty quickly, and gradually has settled down - despite the product description, it has not completely "retained it's original shape." Most of it is still there, but much thinner and sunken.On the bright side, while 4 grams sounds like a small amount, it's plenty, and this stuff is inexpensive. Just realize you'll have to replace it frequently.=================Update: The wire quickly continued to get thinner. And after a while, our fireplace started surging. Typically this might be caused by a dying thermo coupler, and I initially thought that was the case, but then I considered... what has changed with the fireplace? Other than the wire, nothing in a very long time.So I opened up the fireplace and removed the main chunk of wire... and noticed that there were short segments of fine wire scattered around. I cleaned them all out. No more surging fire.As it burnt and aged, the Fire Wire apparently broken into pieces, and one or more of those interfered with the thermo coupler.It is still pretty, and I probably just got very unlucky on where some of the wire fell, but between the short lifespan and the impact of how it fails, I'm docking it a notch. As long as you keep this in mind, though, it was super-easy to fix.

I don't usually write reviews but this one deserves one. This product works really well and makes my ethanol fireplace grab attentions. Very easy to use. Bought other products first but realize I should have bought this first. Also comes in a really nice case. Very happy with my purchase.

We found rolling the fibers into loose clumps and then "burying" them a bit in the helped the effect. Otherwise, it can look like strings of red and fake.

Even though a little bit pricey, looks great and adds a nice note to a fireplace.
