Did a lot of research before buying. Actually purchased before getting a new trailer, but found out I needed the extension kit. Please see my review of the extension kit which is not so great. The weight stabilization and sway control on my 20' CM Trailer, fully loaded at about 10,000 lbs with my 2007 Tundra, was superb. My first haul was 500 miles each way to help a child move upstate. I experienced zero sway, and the system leveled my tow vehicle perfectly. Backing up was a breeze. I watched a couple of company how-to videos on Youtube which were a big help. The system is easy to hook up and detach, but you will need a 1-1/8 socket and torque wrench to intall the ball to 150 lbs of torque. My Craftsman 1/2 inch socket set didn't go that big, so I had to buy a socket. The kit includes an aluminum milled socket for tensioning the chains. I plan to buy a couple of extra kit pieces (frame attachments, possibly chains) to use with the travel trailer I'm going to buy soon and use the ball and hitch for both trailers. I'm very happy with my purchase and believe it was money well spent. I highly recommend the system, but strongly recommend you read my review of the extension kit first before buying it if you need one. Don't hesitate on the weight distribution system though...you will not be disappointed

Loved it at first but started having problems. Can’t get anyone at Andersen to answer the phone.
I loved this hitch initially. When I starting having the common problem with the anti-sway cone, I was still an Andersen fan. The reason? I called Andersen in May and received excellent customer service/support and they quickly shipped the repair parts out to me free of charge. I’ve continued to have “cone” problems over the summer which has now permanently damaged the ball and ball housing requiring replacement of both. At first I thought, no problem. After my previous experience I thought I’d have no difficulty resolving the situation. I’ve called them over and over and cannot get through. I usually get a recording saying “the person you are trying to reach is on the phone, please leave a message.” I have left messages but never receive a call back. This has been the case for weeks now. Then this past Monday, I called just after 8:00 AM Mtn time. Someone picked up the phone because I heard voices in the background. But they put me on hold, then disconnected me after several minutes! I called back and got the same old recording. At this time, I have a 30 pound, $500 Andersen paperweight and can’t get through to anyone to even ask if they can help me. At this time I cannot recommend this hitch because it does not hold up over time and their lack of customer service.

Highly recommended
We pull a 6700lb 32' Grand Design Travel Trailer with a 2011 Ford Expedition 5.4 liter XLT 4WD.We have used the 4 Point Equalizer WD hitch and now the Andersen hitch. The weight distribution works well but the sway control is absolutely amazing. We get zero sway even in heavy winds. Hook up is very simple once you get it figured out. You do still feel it when a tractor trailer passes but it is the movement of the whole vehicle/trailer, still no sway.

I really wanted this hitch to work
I really like the design of this WDH. I was hoping it would work well. I set it up as directed, but could never get enough weight transferred to the front end without compressing the bushing to a point that didn't look correct. I went to the anderson website and they state that you should not have to mash the bushings. I took my trailer out and couldn't go over 60mph without feeling the front end having sway. I eventually compressed the bushing to almost their max, and that made the drive a lot better, was able to do 75mph. But with the bushing compressed you lose some of the dampening they provide on a bounce when driving. Also, it did not look like the bushing would hold up long term being compressed like this. Thankfully I was able to return it. I still love the design and the ease of setup, but the bushing need some work. One thought I had was break up the bushing and place washers in between. Maybe a few layers. I think it would stiffen it a bit more. But I have no way to test that.

Easy to unhook
First off the ease of this hitch is great. I’m waiting for a rep to call me on the unit I received. When I called prior to ordering they told me my camper was a fit but I’m not sure. My dry tongue weight is 1175. Pretty sure with gear in front storage and propane I may be over but they said it was good. The real issue was the sway at 55mph. Not the same reviews I read. Problems could be the shank is bent at the welds making the ball assembly not straight and the brake material was coming out of the top. I did what the said in the video to re seat it but looks like it was cut too long because it sits on the bottom lip and still sticks out. Seats issues may just be it’s under rated for me or odd chance I got a defective unit. I do however want to give it a swap if the rep says I’m not over my rates amount.

I absolutely LOVE this innovative weight distribution system!!!!
It is compact and lightweight when compared to other systems and doesn't require super human strength to manage it's application. No more fussing with long heavy bars. It requires a ½ inch socket wrench when hitching it and the correct size socket is provided with the system. If you plan to install the brackets yourself on your RV and install the ball properly you will need a torque wrench and other tools(refer to the manufacturerer's instructions) Once applied, towing is smooth and seamless. As the weight of your RV towing situation changes, you can adjust the system to fit the changes. There are several models of this system available and are dependent upon your vehicle/RV measurements scenario. If you are having difficulty with deciding which system is the right one for you, the Andersen customer service folks are excellent and very helpful.
