Drag range useless
Basically, as long as this reel is durable, and it seems well made, it is a really nice product. I am keeping it.The big let-down, though, is that one of the main selling points is the quality and adjustability of the drag. There is a big drag knob, with clicks as on a quality reel like an Abel, but the start-up tension is ridiculously high. I don't know if it is adjustable, because it is heavy for a tarpon reel, and this is a 6 weight reel. On a 6 weight, I want a start up that is is so light that all it does is stop the reel from backlash on startup, no drag at all, right on up to heavier weight. But I would need it to protect light tippets. This reel is not going to work like that, and is pretty much unusable at even it's lowest setting.So why am I keeping it? Because I bought this reel to fish for carp, bass, strippers, and maybe bones. It is my heavy weight drag reel when I am using a 6. I hop I either figure out how to adjust the initial start up pressure, it runs in, or it works OK with the heavier tippets I will use on these fish. If I had bought it for general trout, I would be sending it backI bought the large also, and the drag seems reasonable for that range of use. Even there, though, you only get about a 1/4 turn out of the knob before it locks up to what seems as though it might be the max setting.So help me if you know how to adjust the start up.

Pretty good so far.
Although not a very expensive reel it sure seems to fit the bill for the 5/6 wt rod that I got it for. The drag is a little bit over sensitive. It is large and easy to grab quick when you need to but if you turn it too far you will definitely snap fish off. This drag will hold a D-8 Cat from sliding down an icy hill so you only want to turn it a quarter inch at a time. It seems to balance the rod out pretty good with out being overly heavy.

No lo aconsejo mucho la verdad.....el freno viene muy duro y no se puede utilizar en tippet finos solo lo utilizo para el lucio ,bass o mar,cierto que tiene gran capacidad para albergar lineas de numeracion mayor y backing.Compre este mismo carrete linea 7/8 en otro lugar y un desastre.El vendedor muy correcto.

Time not as promised
It took Canada Post. 3 days longer than promised Time. I thought reel held more fly line & backing used integrated line and very little backing and it filled the reel

This reel I'd great for large fish,excellent drag .
I have been fly fishing fo 60 years and have used many good reels. I have only used three Redington twice and the works very well, good drag system for large salmon.

very fast delivery. a bit big and clunky but it holds a lot of line. the drag is very nice- although I haven't tried it on a steelhead over 20 yet.

Improve size of fish by up to 120x.
I put this reel on my rod and instantly started catching fish 12-120x larger than previous before. We are talking giant fish. Bigger than I’ve ever seen before in my life and once I caught a crocodile. Sometimes they even jump inside my boat. Best reel I’ve ever used A++ 10/10 best reel.

Pair with 7-8 weight rod makes for a good combo
The drag system nice although I won't ever need all of it for Atlantic salmon fishing in newfoundland. Overall good solid construction, holding up like it should so far.
