Cardone 96-5196 New Power Steering Pump without Reservoir

My husband has been complaining about needing a new pump for his 2005 OB. Scrolling though Amazon I found this listing as a return for $28. He said get it. He said this brand was recommended by "the interwebs." Once he had his old pump out he noticed it was missing all the ball bearings. This one arrived in perfect condition and he had to put the old pulley on it. Took him part of a morning to install but no issues. Took me for a drive to show off his handy work. Seems to work just fine.

BE CAREFULL. They stole my money the sent me a heavy peace of garbage!!!! A pulley, not a pump at it shows.... dont loose your money!!!

Ok, so what you are getting with this pump is a reversed engineered pump that is cheaper than a remanufactured OEM pump. That doesn't bode well. This pump also lacks the pressure switch in the back, which is the part that turned out too be bad on mine (and unavailable as a separate part). I installed it in my Outback, and it was easy to tell that it was louder than the OEM model, after bleeding it correctly. I chose to return it, and opt for the OEM one available for $200 more. Much happier with the quality, and happier with the lack of noise.

Pump completely failed within 2 months. Further pump was loud since install.
